A magic show that happens in your dreams

Can a magic show take place inside your mind whilst you sleep?

This was the premise for a 5-year work commissioned for the Art B&B in Blackpool, in which every room was an artwork specially designed by an artist.
For my room, I focused on the act of sleep itself, specifically the dreams one might dream inside the room. To frame the act of dreaming as a kind of 'magic show', a book featuring impossible feats sat by the bedside table for you to read. On the walls, behind individual miniature sets of red velvet curtains, hang a series of specially made artworks that refer back to the events in the book. Together, the book and the artworks stimulated the reader's imagination, before bed time, so that their dreams might feature impossible magic feats.
